Brew Bus Brewing, Cigar City Brewing & National Pediatric Cancer Foundation Team Up to Create Rising Hope IPA
Two of the Tampa Bay area’s top craft breweries have joined forces with the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation for a unique fundraising opportunity. Brew Bus Brewing and Cigar City Brewing, among the longest serving craft breweries in the region, have collaborated to create a special beer for a special cause. Rising Hope IPA is a hoppy ale with notes of gooseberry and grapefruit that is available in cans and on tap throughout the area. All sales proceeds from this special offering will be sent to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation to help fund clinical trials and fast-track less toxic and more targeted pediatric cancer treatments.
Founded in 1991 by two mothers whose children were diagnosed with cancer, the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation has donated more than $13 million to cancer researchers and has funded several clinical trials that hold great promise for children who have not experienced positive results from standard treatments. In 2005, the foundation formed the Sunshine Project, a collaboration designed to bring together top doctors and researchers from many different fields to accelerate the development of new treatments and increase the survival rate of children battling cancer.
Rising Hope IPA will be on sale throughout the month of September, and this collaboration will culminate at The Brew Bus Terminal & Brewery on September 30 at the 3rd Annual Putts and Pints. This special mini golf event will kick off at 11 a.m., and scorecards need to be submitted by 3:30 p.m. to be eligible to win prizes.
